International Accountancy Body Joins IFSL

The Association of International Accountants (AIA) is the latest organisation to join the International Financial Services London (IFSL), an independent body which promotes the UK-based financial services industry throughout the world.
“We are delighted to join the IFSL which is a world-renowned organisation, boasting an impressive list of members. The body has extensive links with business and government both here and overseas which will complement our own activities,” Philip Turnbull, AIA Chief Executive, commented. “The IFSL’s initiatives in relation to education, training and qualifications are of particular interest to us, fitting well with our aims of promoting a consistently high standard of professional qualifications across the globe.”
The IFLS is a not-for-profit organisation which was established 40 years ago. It now has more than 130 members spanning the whole financial sector including banking, insurance, trading exchanges, regulatory bodies and professional services. As well as issuing authoritative reports on industry sectors and products, the IFSL also gives updates on key financial indicators. It provides opportunities for contacts with overseas leaders and policy-makers.
Established in 1928, AIA represents thousands of accountants and students in over 85 countries worldwide. As well as acting as a recognised qualifying body for accountancy examinations, it is also the ‘voice of its members’ providing comment on current issues in accountancy and finance.
