Syllabus changes-individual papers

1.1
Credit as having passed Paper F3
Take Paper F3 (Financial Accounting)

the syllabus is similar to the old syllabus Paper 1.1
consolidated accounts and ratio analysis have been removed from the syllabus
partnership goodwill and sales tax have been added to the syllabus


1.2
Credit as having passed Paper F2
Take Paper F2 (Management Accounting)

the syllabus is similar to the old Paper 1.2 syllabus
pricing has been removed from the syllabus
basic budgeting and basic expected values have been added to the syllabus

1.3
Credit as having passed Paper F1
Take Paper F1 (Accountant in Business)

this is a completely new paper, only a small part of which is from the old Paper 1.3.
you are strongly recommended to get a new Study Text

2.1
Credit as having passed Paper F5
Take Paper F5 (Performance Management)

this is a completely new paper with nothing from the old Paper 2.1
the syllabus is half of the syllabus for the old Paper 2.4. If you have already studied for Paper 2.4 then there is not much extra studying needed..
if you have not already studied for the old syllabus Paper 2.4 then you are strongly recommended to get a new Study Text

2.2
Credit as having passed Paper F4
Take Paper F4 (Corporate and Business Law)

the syllabus is similar to the old Paper 2.2 syllabus
the law of torts and professional negligence, and corporate governance have been added to the syllabus.
Discrimination, and majority control and minority protection have been removed from the syllabus

2.3
Credit as having passed Paper F6
Take Paper F6 (Tax)

the syllabus is similar to the old Paper 2.3 syllabus
there is a little more on the taxation of individuals

2.4
Credit as having passed Paper F9
Take Paper F9 (Financial Management)

the syllabus is the Financial Management part of the old Paper 2.4, with the addition of:
cost of capital
business valuation
basic risk management
you are strongly recommended to get the new Study Text


2.5
Credit as having passed Paper F7
Take Paper F7 (Financial Reporting)

the syllabus is similar to the old Paper 2.5 syllabus
accounting for joint ventures and accounting for leases from the lessor's perspective have been removed from the syllabus
preparation of segmental reports is no longer examined

2.6
Credit as having passed Paper F8
Take Paper F8 (Audit and Assurance)

the syllabus is the same as the old Paper 2.6 syllabus

3.1
Credit as having passed Paper P7
Take Paper P7 (Advanced Audit and Assurance)

the syllabus is similar to the old Paper 3.1 syllabus
forensic accounting has been added to the syllabus
Insider dealing has been removed from the syllabus

3.3
Credit as having passed Paper P5
Take Paper P5 (Advanced Performance Management)

the syllabus is similar to the old Paper 3.3 syllabus
there is more focus on the strategic aspects of performance management

3.4
Credit as having passed an option paper (a general credit because there is no equivalent new paper)
Take a new syllabus option paper

there is no equivalent new syllabus paper to Paper 3.4 and so it means choosing P4, P5 or P7
the syllabus will be completely new and it is therefore strongly recommended that you get the new Study Text

3.5
Credit as having passed Paper P3
Take Paper P3 (Business Analysis)

the syllabus is similar to the old Paper 3.5 syllabus, but the emphasis is different
there is much more emphasis on the implementation of strategy
you are strongly recommended to get a new Study Text.

3.6
Credit as having passed Paper P2
Take Paper P2 (Corporate Reporting)

the syllabus is similar to the old Paper 3.6 syllabus
there is an increased emphasis on professional and ethical issues

3.7
Credit as having passed Paper P1
Take Paper P1 (Professional Accountant)

it is not allowed to take Paper P5 (the equivalent new syllabus paper)
Paper P1 is a completely new paper and it is therefore strongly recommended that you get the new Study Text

Useful info, thanks... Any syllabus change for 3.2 - sadly I think I'll need to know!

Many thanks for the info Murph1982. I'll have to get new text book for F3, which I had expected.
