FTC revision question for P6

Postby kindhart » Tue Oct 28, 2008 10:15 am

Hi,

Just wondering if any of you went for revision classes for P6 advanced taxation or standard classes and
did they said which question to go through from the FTC exam kit.

If so is it possible for you to let me know either here or on PM.

Many thanks

Best wishes

Hi

I would say if you are doing home study revision just aim to do as many questions as possible, making sure you cover all the core areas and as many of the other areas as possible.

You need good depth of knowledge, a good grasp of the comps, and be able to suggest and talk about appropriate tax efficient proposals for a given scenario.

Good luuck.

Shame - I could have had a go at giving you the BPP ones but not FTC!

Although Exam Kit is still a useful guide but paper objective and question pattern has been changed. If you go through the exam kit(where all questions are of 3.2 papers) and then attempt pilot paper questions or December 2007 and June 2008 Exam papers then you will find a difference of perspective in both exams(i.e Pre December 2007[3.2] and Post December 2007[P6]). So, our teacher advised us to read the study text fully, practice pilot paper, Dec'07 and June'08 questions and then solve selected questions from kit.

Hi

Many thanks for the information.

My tutor in college said the same thing that not all the question in exam kit is relevant for
this exams so I wanted to avoid question which are not relevant.

I will go through pilot question and Dec and June exam question answer.

Thanks

Is there a UK & Int'l version for this paper? Can someone please advice as on the FTC time table it just says Adv Tax but in the exam entry you have an option of UK or Int'l. Pleaseeeee advice. Thanks.

P6 is the tax paper which has a UK variant and many other country variants, including Malaysia, Ireland and Singapore. But no international variant.

P2, the corporate reporting paper, does have a UK and Int variant. UK is based on UK GAAP standards, Int on IFRS. For future prospects, Int is the best one to go for.

I hope this helps.
