Well, I have just received an e-mail from ACCA welcoming me and inviting me to attend the graduation ceremony in November.

So what’s so bizarre you might ask?

The fact that it’s two years since I became an affiliate, that I attended the cermony in 2008, by which time I was a member and I have paid member’s fees ever since.

And slightly more bizarrely when I phoned ACCA, they were only a little surprised, and not at all concerned, just a ‘thanks for letting us know, I’ll check your records and update them if necessary!’.

I got that email too and just assumed that it was because it was my first year as a member.

I also went to the affiliate one

I can understand that line of thought, Annette, but not two years as a member!

Methinks they have used the wrong distribution list, especially as I didn’t receive an invite last year.

is this for the affiliate graduation?  If so I’ve not had the email, when did you get them?

No this one is the member one, I can’t remember when the affiliate one went out but if you can do go to them.  I went with a college friend and I didn’t regret not taking my husband, he would have been bored stupid with all the hand clapping but going with a fellow affiliate really made it better!

@Mature-student, I wonder if you either missed the cut off date or they didn’t run one last year which is why you got invited?  Are you going?  I don’t think I’ll do this one, it’s London and at night!!

It is possible they are only doing one every two years up here.

And like you I don’t think I’ll be going as it’s in Glasgow and won’t finish until 10pm (plus I’ve got work the next day).
