Hi all

I’m new to this forum, all the posts going on are very useful!

I have just passed my final CAT exam, and have decided to go on to study ACCA! Eeeek!

I studied CAT through distance learning, but decided to go to Uni for ACCA, as I thought it’d be a lot harder to just do it from a text book. I really admire all of you who are though!!

I’ve been working in accounts for 10 years and really enjoy it, and love to learn more!

Nice to meet you all!

Welcome to the group.

Congrats on passing your CAT finals Kit_27.

Who did you study CAT with and how did you find it?
I went the uni route and got a degree in accounting then postgrad then ACCA (and got exempt from all but six papers) but i do not think this is the best route as my basic accountancy is weak. You got the basic experience before your knowledge so uni should work.

I have just the 3 essentials to complete P1 to P3 and i admit i will have to revise F7 indepth before i sit P2 as i do not have a good grasp of basic accounting.

Many Thanks

Hi!

I enjoyed doing CAT. I did distance learning with Kaplan, who I never had any problems with. They were always helpful.

I know CAT is not as well known as AAT but when I had been made redundant from a job who had promised to put me into college and never did, so thought sod it, I’ll do it myself. Couldn’t afford to go to college so distance learning it was, although back then I could only find CAT distance learning courses.

I start at uni next week. After having a break from studying since June (with D/L I studied throughtout the year), its a little daunting but I’m looking forward to it also!
