Hi. I am a grade 11 high school student. For my accounting class, i was assigned to do a career research on the international field of accounting. Obviously, my research is to ask an expert in the community who works in the field of accounting. So i would really appreciate if any accountant in this forum can help me with my project. I have a few questions regarding accounting careers. I would really appreciate if you can take a few minutes of your day to answer my questions. If you are kind enough to help me please send the answer for the following questions via email to: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Please and Thank you

Q: What is your official job title? What company do you work for? What city is your company located?

Q: Describe a typical day at your job?

Q: What are your job responsibilities?

Q: What kind of education do you need to work for this experience?

Q: What is your working environment? At home? At office?

Thank you for answering all the questions. I really appreciate your help. Please email at: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Although I commend your research for finding this site, I think you may have missed some of the learning points intended by this piece of work.

You are to ask an expert in the community - I think this means you are to track down an expert who lives or works within your community, and then, most likely, ask them these questions face to face. This needs a very different set of skills from asking anonymous people on the internet. Also, the information you get will be relevant to you, educational syatems and qualifications are different the world over.

Get hold of your local business directory, and contact either local accountancy firms &/or larger companies who will have accountants work in their finance area. I’m sure you’ll find someone more than willing to offer you half an hour of their time to tell you about the profession as a career.

Good luck.

Thank you for your recommendation. I agree with your suggestion, but my teacher encourages my class to explore more in the world community of accounting instead of only at where I live. I live in Toronto, Canada, I would rather interview an accountant outside Ontario or in the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia or somewhere half way around the globe. Interviewing somebody locally would be the easiest thing to do plus all the other kids in my class, I’m sure, are doing it. I’m sure there are tons of accountants on this website who works or worked outside of Ontario or outside of Canada. I would like to know your experience as an accountant by you answering the five questions posted above. Thank you. I appreciate it.
