I just saw in the news that the ODA is creating jobs for management accountants: 

Accountants with strong commercial skills are in short supply on London’s Olympics project, according to Jean Tomlin, director of HR, London 2012.

Sounds promising?

Can this really be true? Do you believe it?

I keep seeing articles about how some companies are finding it really hard to source good candidates and to be honest am a little confused! I mean how can that be? There are so many people looking?

Unless there are cert5ain professions where people are no longer willing to work and are trying to change thier ways?

I know, it does seem so ironic that everyone seems to be struggling to find employment yet there are still companies out there who are desperately seeking skilled staff yet can’t manage to source the right candidates. Do you think it’s because they are trying to avoid going through popular recruitment firms and job sites- and advertising posts through word of mouth or via their own newsletters instead?

I guess that could be one of the possibilitites yes, I mean in order to save some cash and all that! But with the number of people out there looking fr jobs right now, I think they would be looking in more places than just the agencies or job sites? Surely thewy would look through local media, and apply directly to companies etc!!!!!

Maybe companies are asking for more for less? There has to be something going wrong dont you think?
