I really think that 2 months is too long to wait for results and too short to get ready for the next sitting.
There’s no excuse for the ACCA as others have shortened their waiting time. With a computerized marking system it should have been shorter than 2 months instead we got 1 week bonus from the 15 to 22 february.

We have to deal with the pressure and uncertainty of not knowing what to do for 2 months…we can’t even registered for the next papers as we don’t if we made it or not…once we know then we only have 3 months to get ready for the next sitting…I simply hate this waiting period…

Can ACCA make it shorter?

I agree it’s a long time but I can’t think of any reason why they wouldn’t shorten the time if they could.

I could understand why it takes so long to mark all the papers when it was manual marking.

Is this the first sitting of electronic marking? If so I would guess they’re also doing manual checks to ensure the accuracy. It probably will get quicker once they’re satisfied the papers are being marked accurately.

Yeah, they really should be working on shortening the time. Regardless of the logistics of correcting the exams, 10/11 weeks is far too much. Surley they could reduce this down to 7/8 weeks in line with other bodies. This would, apart from being easier on students waiting, also give us more time to study for the next session and so have better prepared students.

If they dont have the numbers to do this its a worry. I tend to think if you were given a case study of ACCA in an exam it would be as a classic case of overtrading.

I presume they know how we feel about this and are working on reducing it. If not, we should petition them.

This year as well there’s been no sign of any ERB minutes, Examiner’s Reports or Model Answers. Apart from breaking up the time they help me go through my usual waiting process of

1)Oh my god, Ive definitely failed
2)Hey, maybe not, look at comment xx
3)I think may have got the best marks ever!
4)Open results, hmmmmmm

This is the 2nd sitting where the electrony marking will be used, so I think they can really shorten it.

I’ve been looking for ERB minutes, Examiner’s Reports all over but it seems that there are none this is a surprise as most of the time they are released by now. For model ansers I guess we’ll have to wait for another week or so.

Let’s wait and hope that something will be done by the next sitting.

I sent an email to ACCA last week asking when the ERB minutes would be published as it’s usually around 1 month after the exams finish and got a reply today saying they would be up ‘shortly after the exam results are issued’.

They have definitely moved to publishing these/answers/reports later and later in the last few sittings. It’s annoying as it really does help to break the waiting time up.
