Dear Andy,

I pleased that you got very good start after finishing your final exams.

I am just wondering, is it difficult to get the job if person like myself in Local Authority and would like to move to PWC or Ernst & Young specially I got lots of experience and also I am almost 43 years old.

Any advice from you, would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Heena,

I can’t say really about Local Authority to PWC/E&Y.  If you have experience in areas that they are recruiting to and a good academic background (which I don’t) then there should be no reason for you not to work for them.

I would have to question if working for these companies is the right move for you though!  The hours can be long, the benefits such as pension will not be as good as local authority but the pay will almost certainly be better.  I know that working for the big four was enough to kill some students but am not sure what it is like post-qualification…

Hope that is of some help.

Andy

Hi Andy

You are right the pension is good in local authority. But now in local authority jobs are not very secured and so moving to big 4 will help me towards my career.

One of my dream is to work worldwide rather than just in UK

Thanks for your guidance
