Studying for accountancy exams can be quite expensive especially if you don’t have a study package from your employer and are having to fund it yourself.

That’s why microjobs sites have become an ideal way to generate a bit of extra cash - or for inventive individuals a regular income.

The latest such site (as discovered in Private Eye) is fiverormore.co.uk (fiver or more) which allows you to list jobs for £5 or as the name suggests, more, up to a maximum of £25.

Signup is free and all is required is a Paypal account to receive any sale proceeds.

Full terms, conditions etc can be found on the site but thought this was useful to share for students and anyone else interested in making some extra money.

Hey

I’m after some advice regarding finding a job. I am a recent graduate who is looking to get himself on the job market. I studied a degree in accounting which meant I was able to gain all 9 exemptions for the foundation exams. I then took a Masters degree in accounting which allowed me to study for the professional exams, and I was able to gain 3/5 passes I needed in P1, P3 and the tax exam.

My problem now is that I am looking to find a job, but I don’t know what to look for. Obviously there are finance graduate positions which I am applying for at places like Centrica but these positions won’t start till September. Are there any other accounting jobs which I should look out for the apply for, as I want to get myself into it. What job titles should I be searching for?

Obviously I realise my problem is that I haven’t got experience, which a lot of accounting assistant positions I’ve seen want. In the mean time, how can I get experience to help me in my applications. Would it be worthwhile looking to find a bookkeeping job or volunteering?

Any advice and opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Notes 4 Uni is a virtual marketplace for students to buy and sell lecture notes and other revision materials. If you make detailed, useful notes, why not make some money by selling them to other students? Or if you are looking to get ahead in your course, try reading the notes uploaded by others taking your exact modules, at your university.

I read the funniest thing today and thought I would share it with you guys!

Apparently people are so addicted to Facebook games such as Farmville that they are spending their time on these at work instead of working!

It was reported that one Bulgarian official was sacked for being caught on Farmville during work time! Do you really think that these things can affect people’s day so greatly that they would risk losing their jobs over it?

I know for a fact where I work we are only allowed to access such sites during our lunch hour or after work! As far as I am aware no one would be caught on these sites outside of that time as it can be as serious as instant dismissal! Can you imagine loads of accounting types all sitting there on facebook games all day??? LOL

Do any of you understand why people become so addicted to these games?

I for one love playing games on facebook but often get bored after the first few weeks and move onto something else hehe!

As some of you know, my other half is from there so it is more personal for me in some ways! They have been trying to reach family there but have not managed to get through to all of them as yet! The phone lines are down in some places so they are hoping all is well!

I can’t believe it! Can you imagine the work that will go into rebuilding all the damage! Its awful isn’t it? Its such a beautiful island as well!

Some sort of international aid needs to be sorted out - I hopt they get it sooner rather than later
