Issue 10 of “CTA Student” is now available.

It contains an article on the new CTA exam structure and details of the Student Autumn Training Conference at the University of Warwick (19 - 21 September 2008). There is a competition where you can win a half-price place at that Conference.

Issue 9 contained a letter from the President.

Issue 6 contained a letter from the CIOT President, John Cullinane.

Issue 5 was a special edition of “CTA Student”, containing a questionnaire aimed at current CTA students.

The Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) has published a policy paper seeing out its thoughts on what a Taxpayers’ Charter might look like. The Government has recently announced that HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) will be “...taking forward work with interested parties to develop a Taxpayers’ Charter”.

CIOT welcomes income shifting EDM

The Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) welcomes the Early Day Motion (EDM) on income shifting that has been tabled in the House of Commons. The CIOT has long been of the view that fundamental reform to the structure of small business taxation is necessary if small businesses are to be able to plan their tax affairs with any degree of certainty.
