Hi,

I am on a student visa (ACCA COURSE) and in search of approved employers who can provide work experience.

I have been on accaglobal website but it requires username and password to access the approved employers section.

Any help in this matter will be highly appreciated.

Regards

Well as far as work expierence concern if you av previous expierence then you can hit high rank employers. If you av no expierence about UK enviornment then you can even start from small business firms.

Now you av to decide you av to focus on Practice firms or other sectors. Each sector av own criterias of recruitment. Now as far as work permit concern this depends on employer but first try to get any job then talk to employer about work permit.

I hope things gonna be smooth soon with you.

contact ACCA for username and PASSWORD

If you are on a student visa another great way of getting work experience is to go to Ptap (see http://www.ptap.co.uk). It is an accountancy training college that deals specifically with developing your practical skills. The key element of this training (which is one of the reasons I joined) is once you’ve completed the core workshops, you qualify for further work experience through their partner practice firm. It gave me all the experience and confidence I needed to get the job I have now.

They are approved by the Home office so they can also help you to extend your visa.

I think it is very good idea to go to training college. I went to a collge called ‘Tops London’ (http://www.topslondon.co.uk, ). It realy helped me a lot to get a job. It is much cheaper than Ptap. The basic course is only £350 and you can learn book keeping on Sage and account preparation on IRis.The teachers are ICAEW qualified and they also gave me free advices on Cv build up and how to apply for jobs.

I think this is the best way to start.
